Maple Dam Wetland Preserve

GTA has an ongoing relationship with landowners in the Blackwater area of Maryland’s Eastern Shore (Dorchester County).  In 2022, GTA helped to permanently preserve 42 acres of critical restored wetlands and wetland buffers, and we hope to double that acreage in 2023 and 2024.

ABOUT US >

Green Trust Alliance (GTA) is a nationally accredited land trust and public charity strongly dedicated to accelerating large scale conservation, preservation, and public lands access efforts in the Mid-Atlantic region. To accomplish this, we work with industry leaders, nonprofit partners, and public agencies to identify important public and private properties in our conservation focus areas. In these areas, we use a multi-scale, multi-project approach to create a suite of community and ecological benefits where people live, work, and play, and to ensure long-term active stewardship of these lands and parks.
